4 Ways To Remove Negativity From Your Life
Negativity drains energy, time, and happiness. Often, negativity can become a spiral that is hard to climb out of. Ever find yourself having one negative thought and then you cannot stop? We all go through it. Finding ways to remove negativity from you life will lead you to both more success and more happiness.
Here are our 4 ways to remove negativity from your life:
1. Find Ways To Be Grateful
Gratitude is a powerful weapon against negativity. As soon as you have a negative thought, flip the thought to something you can say thank you for. Being grateful will pull you out of all the reasons you feel negativity towards life. Once you learn to be grateful, you’ll find that your negativity cannot stand up to this new mindset.
Pro tip: You can always find things to be grateful for – the air you’re breathing, the clothes you’re wearing, anything! Or if possible, keep a gratitude journal and write down at least three things that have happened during the day that you’re grateful for. This will help put your mind in the right place to sleep.
2. Explore Ways To Move Your Body
Did you know that exercise releases endorphins into your body? These are a natural “feel good” mechanism that acts faster, better and safer than any drug (prescription or otherwise), and they are generated when you exercise.
Not a work out person? That’s okay. Exercise doesn’t have to mean going to the gym or pool or even jogging. It can be as simple as leaving the car at home for short journeys or parking a bit further away from the store entrance. Perhaps you stretch or do a little yoga.
3. Find Ways To Eat More Healthy
The nutrients you put in your body makes a difference in your life. When you eat something you eat that gives you a quick sugar high, it is soon followed by the negative side of eating food that’s not exactly healthy. Try to cut down on excess sugar.
Make slightly healthier choices when you eat – even if that means reading the labels. A good rule is not to eat things where you don’t understand several of the ingredients and wouldn’t add them if you were making the recipe at home. So if you don’t keep high fructose corn syrup, or it’s artificial partner aspartame in your kitchen, don’t buy products with them in.
4. Discover Ways Incorporate Positive Visualization
Begin to intentional visualize success, happiness, joy. What lifestyle do you imagine yourself living? What makes you the happiest? They’re a bunch of benefits that come from positive visualization, discover a few of them in our ‘Using Visualization Techniques To Achieve Success’ blog post.
